Our hand and heart from Baden to all over the world.

Welcome to the furniture factory Brunner.

Our roots are incredibly important to us and we still live by the virtues of care and attention, punctuality and reliability. We believe that high-quality, tried-and-tested materials are paramount, that's why we work together with long-standing partners. We make use of state-of-the-art technologies – yet often take our products into our own hands too: to add finishing flourishes of colour, to perfectly upholster, to guarantee robust construction and to closely examine the quality of the end result. After all, quality requires expertise. And expertise is human. And we don't do that just anywhere, we do it at our home in Rheinau, Baden, where we know and value our employees and long-standing partners.

Brunner manufacturing concept and quality promise.

play

Piece by piece, movement by movement.

The heart of Brunner is alive with the clicks and clatters of sewing machines and staplers. No matter whether a piece of Brunner furniture is manufactured as a fully upholstered chair or a chair with seat and back upholstery, or whether it's a hybrid stool with plastic shell and interior through liner or a bench or zoning solution, and no matter whether moulded or cut foam is inside – the very essence of every upholstered piece of furniture comes from the heart of Brunner's craftsmanship: the upholstery workshop.

Here, the expert touch of more than 100 employees ensures optimum seating comfort. They cut, sew, staple, tack and cover. Brunner upholstered furniture is created through countless skilful, specialised and experienced movements. And then another and another and always with the same, flawless appearance – regardless of the quantity. This is possible thanks to the outstanding craftsmanship of each and every employee in combination with well-thought-out, intelligent technical processes. These run in the background. It's the craftsmanship at the forefront.

Look, touch, evaluate – the human advantage.

People are needed even before upholstering begins: right from cutting the material to finishing surfaces and final assembly of all individual elements – almost all stages of manufacture for chairs, armchairs, bench modules or zoning elements require a high degree of manual input.

For instance, the process of cutting fabric or leather for a piece of upholstered furniture from Brunner is only partially automated. Brunner quality requires manual work in many areas. It demands visual judgement, passion, experience and know-how. Even when it comes to making the best possible use of materials, we depend on people, for example, to carefully check all leather by hand and note the smallest imperfections so they can be manually excluded from the piece that is cut.

Human expertise is also essential when cutting fabric, since each one moves and stretches differently depending on the yarn and type of weave. This requires a wealth of experience with the material in question and a thorough understanding of subsequent processing steps. After all, different covers will naturally have different seams depending on the model and these seams will use up different amounts of material, therefore the cut must be tailored to the fabric and model each time.

Skilled craftsmanship.

Finishing surfaces, for example, when staining wooden shells or frames, also calls for manual work: employees spray the stain with practised, flowing movements and in doing so ensure uniform colour distribution.

The Brunner standard range includes more than 40 stain colours plus eight coloured varnishes. In combination with around 900 fabric and leather colours and the Colour Collection for plastic shells, the various metal and coating solutions for frames, and the numerous decorative variants for tabletops, the results are design possibilities that have no limits. At the same time, Brunner puts its heart into every product, emphasising exquisite quality and unique, bespoke solutions.
