Innovation Factory awarded Hugo Häring Prize.

Brunner’s pioneering hybrid building, the Innovation Factory, has been awarded the 2020 Hugo Häring Prize, Baden-Württemberg’s most prestigious architecture award.

The judging panel of famous faces led by Hans Klumpp, emeritus professor of design, construction and architecture at the Stuttgart Technical University of Applied Sciences, was blown away by “the efficiency and simplicity of the wooden structure. Its multi-level design allows for ultra-sophisticated building elements to be combined, with all the technical equipment cleverly incorporated. From an urban development perspective down to the tiniest of details, this building makes a bold statement with its truly exceptional design.”

The judging panel also admired the clean lines and the calming horizontal design of this building on an industrial estate busy with all kinds of shapes. Boasting a reflective matt facade, the Innovation Factory is part of a timelessly elegant ensemble surrounded by gorgeously green grounds. The glass front offering a clear view of the inside space was a big hit too since it transforms the site into a showroom with “a depth that draws you in”.

The Hugo Häring Prize is awarded to visionary architects and developers every three years by the Association of German Architects (BDA) in Baden-Württemberg.
