Klingel Versandhaus

Pforzheim, Germany, 2013

Everything from the Same Source

Six models and a special edition – the new Klingel canteen in Pforzheim has been completely equipped with Brunner furniture.

Brunner has perfectly realised our design for the elaborate upholstered benches.

Corina Keller, Architect Flumdesign, Hamburg

The Klingel group headquartered in Pforzheim ranks among the biggest mail order companies in Germany. Since summer 2013, the more than 2,000 Klingel employees can enjoy their new canteen. In order to create the necessary space, the existing administration building received an additional floor which now houses the canteen, seating some 300 guests.

The modern interior design, all in dark brown and white, was conceived by Flumdesign, a Hamburg- based architectural firm. Several differently designed areas structure the spacious interior, offering various seating options – different, yet coordinated – from bar stools all the way to comfy upholstered easy chairs, complete with matching tables. Since Brunner was able to present convincing models for every requirement, the furniture made by the Rheinau-based contract furniture manufacturer was indeed selected. After all, it was very important for the awarding company to get everything from the same source. Now stand-up tables from the we_talk series have been combined with fina bar stools, a harmonious match, just like the combination of we_meet central-column tables and fox stacking chairs. In the lounge corner, set off by a pedestal, crona easy chairs create a cozy atmosphere for informal talks. Larger groups can also gather around the ample cross central-column table.

The Klingel canteen’s masterpiece: the upholstered benches, designed by Flumdesign and manufactured by Brunner. Completely closed, containing a sophisticated interior, featuring elaborate upholstered cushions that can be individually detached if they need new covers or new upholstery. Thanks to Brunner’s in-house upholstery experts, Brunner was able to convince the awarding company in this regard as well – so everything really comes from the same source.
