After three years of development, Brunner and Diez Office are proud to present mudra, a universal chair that puts a modern spin on the technical and ecological possibilities of shaped wood technology. This project has required an in-depth understanding of functionality and extremely high design standards combined with specific expertise surrounding production and a willingness to push the boundaries. I’ve been following Stefan Diez’s work for a while now and I’ve always been impressed by his attention to detail and the depth with which he explores structures and materials.
When we were taking the lead to start with, Marc Brunner always had the imagination needed to stick with us and follow our train of thought.
The mudra design chair as it stands now was born out of conviction over many rounds of development without the constraints of a strict timeline. Brunner and Diez Office have a lot in common, including a passion for innovative ways of working with materials, a need for perfection, attention to detail and an unwillingness to compromise on functionality and iconic design.
