A-Chair wins DDC “Good Design 14” Gold Award

The A-Chair made by Brunner has once again received a renowned award: at the “Gute Gestaltung 14” [Good Design] awards hosted by the German Designer Club (DDC), this stackable plastic chair received the Gold accolade in the “Product” category. The 4-person panel of jurors praised the A-Chair for its “fine design, many possibilities for variation, high functionality and above all comfortable seating. Big compliment!” The A-Chair – designed by Stuttgart-based design studio jehs+laub – has a very striking characteristic: its slim legs, which – when regarded sideways – remind one of the letter A. Frame and shell can be combined in many colors and materials. All winner products will be presented to the general public by the DDC during a traveling exhibition called “Gute Gestaltung on tour” [good design on tour]. The DDC Gold Medal is already the third award the A-Chair has received within only two months: in late November, the German Design Council praised the A-Chair as a “Winner 2014” in its Interior Innovation Award 2014. Four weeks earlier, the Frankfurt-based committee had announced its intention to also bestow an award on the A-Chair at the German Design Award 2014.
