Transparency and expertise

There are many certifications dedicated to various aspects of sustainability. We deliberately settled on the certifications listed here for maximum impact.

ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is a certification for our company’s professional environmental management system, which allows us to plan ahead and incorporate sustainability and environmental aspects systematically into our business decisions. From the moment we created and introduced our current environmental management system, it has been shaping all areas of our business and all our processes, ensuring sustainability for the benefit of people, animals and nature to minimise any negative impact.

You can view our ISO 14001 certification here.

ISO 9001

Our ISO 9001 certification verifies that we are doing our best to meet and keep meeting the wants and needs of our customers. This standard sets out the minimum requirements for a quality management system and confirms that the optimisation of workflows and the continuing development and training of our management team are priorities for us and our business.

You can view our ISO 9001 certification here.

PEFC

Our Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certificate assures our customers that the wood and wooden composites we use in our products come from sustainably managed forests.

The PEFC is a transparent operational control system that guarantees that certified wood has been sourced in a socially and ecologically sustainable way. The certification also reveals our chain of custody when processing PEFC-certified wood, disclosing the entire process to our customers with full transparency.

GS certificate

A product certified with the GS mark meets the quality and safety standards set out by the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG). As an independent testing body, TÜV Rheinland officially tests and certifies our products by checking the impact on consumer health and safety and factoring in a whole host of German and European guidelines and standards.

TÜV tested for harmful substances

It is important to continuously test for harmful substances and emissions to ensure that indoor environments are healthy and contact with materials is safe. There are usually significant overlaps across the majority of certifications. However, there are also differences in the underlying limit values. Brunner made a conscious decision to choose the ‘TÜV tested for harmful substances and emissions’ certification because we believe this is the most meaningful. All relevant materials have been subjected to emissions and material testing. The materials to be tested have been carefully selected so they can cover other models in our portfolio and be used as a substitute for all models.

The certification includes annual monitoring audits. The list of certified models is constantly increasing. An up-to-date version of the certificates can be found here.

Blue Angel

The German Blue Angel ecolabel is awarded to environmentally friendly products that also meet high standards for health protection. The defined framework conditions are set by the German Federal Environment Agency and informed by dedicated studies, scientific publications and market research into product-specific requirements and awarding criteria. They include, in particular, environmental and social aspects.

EU Ecolabel

The EU Ecolabel is a globally recognised certification issued by the European Union. Materials can only be awarded the EU Ecolabel if they have a minimal environmental impact throughout their life cycle.

Around half of all the fabrics in our standard range have been certified with the EU Ecolabel. You can see an overview of all our fabrics and their certifications here.

OEKO-TEX®

OEKO-TEX® certification requires independent testing for harmful substances in line with the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. It is awarded to products made of textiles that pose no risk to human health and have been verified as safe. The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is based on scientific parameters and a strict catalogue of criteria that must be met globally. Products must be certified annually to ensure that the certification reflects the latest research and legislation.

You can see an overview of all our fabrics and their certifications here.

Greenguard Gold

Products certified in line with Greenguard standards have to meet strict requirements for emissions and the toxicity of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and undergo testing for various chemicals. Greenguard Gold certification sets even higher standards, with materials tested to this level being approved for usage in highly sensitive settings like healthcare facilities.

Most of the fabrics supplied by Kvadrat in our standard range have been awarded Greenguard Gold certification. You can see a list of the Kvadrat fabrics with Greenguard Gold certification here.

Product environmental information

We have produced product environmental information for most products in our portfolio to make the environmental impact of individual product ranges and models more transparent. These declarations provide information about Brunner’s environmental efforts in general, list the materials used and explain how the product can be recycled. This makes it easier for customers to compare products and make the best decisions for our planet.
