ray receives distinction for high design quality in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019

 

Rheinau, march 2019 - The Brunner high-end conference chair ray with high back-rest has won an award in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019. The renowned jury only awards the Red Dot to products that feature an outstanding design.

For the highest management requirements

The conference management chair ray from Brunner with a high back-rest and integrated ergonomic zones offers especially good seating comfort and is produced with superior craftmanship in Rheinau, in the south of Germany. The chair has three integrated pads in the back-rest that form independent ergonomic zones and that can be upholstered with other materials than the main shell itself. The integrated radial-kinetic activation supports perfectly the „active sitting“.  The surface of the armrests made of die-cast aluminium can be chromed or polished or also be powder coated in various colours. Optional the chair can be equipped with self-return mechanism, can just be pivotable or with casters with open wheel as swivel chair variant. Thanks to the combination of different materials the chairs offers many design possibilities and is the perfect chair for high-quality conference rooms or management offices. This chair is part of the high-end conference series ray that has been designed from Stuttgart based design duo jehs+laub.

The Award

The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 2019, designers and manufacturers from 55 countries entered more than 5,500 products in the competition. The international jury comprises experienced experts from different disciplines and has been convening for more than 60 years in order to select the year’s best designs. During an adjudication process that spans several days, they try out the products, discuss them and ultimately reach a well-founded decision regarding the design quality of the entries. True to the motto “In search of good design and innovation”, their assessment focuses on criteria such as the level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, longevity and ergonomics.
